On our relocation to Red Eye Mountain

by Okaria on November 6th, 2008 · Warhammer Online

Our fearless leader had this to say on last night’s decision to transfer the guild to Red Eye:

Good evening everyone,

Almost two months ago now the officers and some of our guild members spent two solid days researching our choice for server. The end result was the selection of Ulthuan as our server and I think through the first month of the game we can all agree it was a very solid server with a diverse range of guilds and play styles. We have all enjoyed being members of this community and it is with much sadness that today we are making decision to leave the server.

Mythic in their questionable wisdom has made Ulthuan a “source server” in their transfer program. The transfer program is made to move people from low population servers to medium population servers. There are two realities here that we must face:

1. The low population servers who are losing players will become have-not servers. The populations will become so depleted that in a game where it is essential to have large numbers to maximize enjoyment the server will cease to be fun as a place to play and as a community.

2. There is no future for these low population servers. It is impossible to see a world where Ulthuan exists in a year or dare I say even six months. These servers WILL. BE. SHUT. DOWN and merged with other servers. We might not be given the choice of the server we go to next time and we have to take control of our own destiny

So this evening the officers and some of our senior community members (thank you guys for letting us pull you in to officer chat in vent :P) had what is probably the hardest meeting we’ve ever had to pick our course of action.

The end result of this meeting is that we’ve selected the Red Eye Mountain server as our new home. We see several benefits in this new server:

1. The Ulthuan community has essentially picked it as their server of choice. We are not leaving Ulthuan because we don’t like the community (totally the opposite - we love the Ulthuan community) we are leaving it because the numbers just don’t add up for fun in an RvR game.

2. Red Eye Mountain has a solid balance of players and is solidly an upper medium server population server. We’ve learned two things about this game. To fully enjoy the game you need a solid population and you need a balanced population. Red Eye Mountain offers us both

3. Talking to some of the membership it seems we have quite a few friends over here. Most of them seem to be playing Destruction but its always fun to kill someone and then not let it go the next day at work

Thank you all for your consideration in this matter. I know this will put some people out and I know we might even lose some members because of this move. I think we are one of the best guilds in this game or even in any MMO. I hope all of you will join us on Red Eye Mountain and in games yet to be released in the future. I hope you find our little community of value and that you will continue to do so.

More information as well as our members responses can be found in the forum thread. We look forward to making new friends and forming even tighter bonds with those that have decided to move with us. We want to especially thank our members for their patience during this stressful time.

Tier 3 AKS and Alliance Success

by RJO on October 12th, 2008 · Warhammer Online

Together with our allies Redwake Legion and Vigilant Addiction we rolled in to Tier 3 last night and locked down the Elf pairing. The evening started in Saphery where we met a little resistance but quickly took down the Keep Lord. Well of Qhaysh was then claimed in Aureus Knight’s name - our very first Keep claim!

Our Keep

After Saphery was completely locked down we headed north to Avelorn and engaged Ghrond’s Sacristy Keep. We met more resistance upon arriving in Avelorn but quickly locked down the keep and had Redwake Legion drop the claim on the keep!

RWL Keep Lord

After that a grueling battle that lasted 5 hours ensued. There were many times where we were out numbered (there was one point where Destruction had the first floor locked down) but using various strategies we not only defended both Keeps but we only lost two battle objectives to a full cap the entire night.

The evening was a huge success for Aureus Knights and The Sacred Alliance - Thank you to everyone who was involved!

Tonight’s Tier 2 Keep Siege

by Okaria on September 18th, 2008 · Warhammer Online

On behalf of all the Officers I’d just like to thank you all for coming out to the guild’s first post-launch Tier 2 Keep Siege. We managed to capture the keep rather quickly, but soon discovered the real phone was yet to come; The Six Mouths, Blood Eagle and several other Destruction guilds showed up to reclaim our cap. In the hour or so that followed, the Knights put up a valiant effort to maintain control of our freshly captured Keep, but the enormous numbers of Destruction ultimately overwhelmed us. I applaud the Destruction teams on their persistence, and congratulate the Knights on their incredible job of holding that wave off as long as we did.

Once again, thank you to everyone who came, Order and Destruction alike, and we all look forward to the next big turn out! Here’s some photos of the events that transpired:

The Knights Make Ulthuan Their Home

by Okaria on September 14th, 2008 · Warhammer Online

After a great deal of deliberation, the Knights have decided upon Ulthuan as our server for Warhammer Online’s head start beginning today, and retail launch on the 18th. This decision was not made lightly, and took a number of factors into account.

I’d like to personally think our members for their patience during this time. I know there has been some stress on the forums about the server decision lately, especially considering Mythic’s unexpected decision to stagger the head start servers, but you’ve managed to keep your cool and be very professional about it.

I’d also like to thank RJO and Elidien for their (literally) hours of research into the servers and the communities forming around them, and managing coordination with our allies. It was no easy task, and you all deserve a pat on the back for a job well.

Now shut up and get playing! Collector’s Edition Head Start begins in 30 minutes! WAAAGH!

Waaagh!

by Gagtech on September 12th, 2008 · Guild News, Warhammer Online

Hi All!

Just as a reminder with Open Beta coming to an end, and headstart just around the corner, there are a couple threads everyone should be checking out!

Firstly, hit up this link to choose a servername you like. Your opinion counts, and we would like to hear it. Keep in mind that the officers will make the final decision based on votes, community, and guilds that will be moving to that server.

Secondly, if you know what class you are going to be playing and what spec, post here and let us know so we can keep a tally.

There are a lot of threads going on in the forums right now, so please post and make your opinions and thoughts known.

Also, get word out to all the non-believers that AKS is still recruiting! So if you know anyone that is interested in playing Warhammer Online, why not get them to join the Knights!

OB Server

by Gagtech on September 4th, 2008 · Warhammer Online

Hi all,

The officers had a discussion about what beta server we should be on and we all decided that the OB server will be:

Tyrion

Keep in mind this is not set in stone.

Also, this will not be the Head Start server. We will be having an open poll for all members when the time comes to decide what server we will be playing on. The officers will also be looking at which guilds are rolling on which server just to make sure we don’t get heavily outnumbered from the get go.
