FFXIV Release Date. PS3 Version Delayed
Details are emerging from the official Japanese site for Final Fantasy XIV that the game will launch for the PC this coming September. The official launch will be on September 30th with an early access period (September 22nd) for those who pre order the collectors edition.
The PS3 version is apparently going to be delayed until March 2011. More details will emerge today when the North American official site updates and we'll provide details when we have them.
E32010: The Old Republic Video Coverage
There was a tonne of video coming out of E3 for Star Wars The Old Republic. Luckily some of the best video Bioware captured on their site.
Here's the highlight for me, a preview of the game's player ships:
You can view all the videos here.
E32010: Gamespot Previews The Old Republic
The hype level on Star Wars The Old Republic coming out of E3 as at a fever pitch. There has been plenty of interesting coverage and it is tempting to just dump it all here for your viewing pleasure. Instead of of taking that approach I'm going to try and find the interesting tidbits from various media agencies...
The top piece I've found so far is a preview by Gamespot, one I would highly suggest reading if you have even the slightest interest in this title.
Their conclusion should serve as tease enough to click through and check it out:
Having played through six of the game's classes, it seems clear that The Old Republic will offer a great deal of variety in terms of branching paths, differing dialogue choices, and interesting gameplay nuances. We're intrigued by the prospect of playing through a massively multiplayer version of BioWare's best story-driven experiences while also playing through diverse PVP battles where smart use of your character's skills will seemingly make all the difference. We'll continue to bring you more updates on this highly anticipated game.
E32010: Day 1 FFXIV Round Up
The media haven't started their appointments with Square Enix yet (that starts tomorrow) but that didn't stop Square themselves from putting out quite a bit of interesting information today!
First up is a brilliant new trailer for the game:
Following that Square released a view of the revamped (and looking quite nice I might say) combat system:
Couple this with the benchmarking program we saw earlier today and even the most die hard FFXIV fan can go to bed tonight with their information craving satisfied.
No doubt more to come tomorrow when the fan sites and news networks begin to sit down with the development team...
